Exodus 20

20:1 And God spoke all these words, saying,

“I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.

“You shall have no other gods before [1] me.

“You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing steadfast love to thousands [2] of those who love me and keep my commandments.

“You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.

“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor, and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates. 11 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore theLord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

12 “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.

13 “You shall not murder. [3]

14 “You shall not commit adultery.

15 “You shall not steal.

16 “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

17 “You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or his male servant, or his female servant, or his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor's.”

18 Now when all the people saw the thunder and the flashes of lightning and the sound of the trumpet and the mountain smoking, the people were afraid [4] and trembled, and they stood far off 19 and said to Moses, “You speak to us, and we will listen; but do not let God speak to us, lest we die.” 20 Moses said to the people, “Do not fear, for God has come to test you, that the fear of him may be before you, that you may not sin.” 21 The people stood far off, while Moses drew near to the thick darkness where God was.

Exodus 20, starts a list of rules that God gave to the people of Israel.  These stipulations continue through Exodus 23.  In Exodus 20, we are given the basic core rules we are to follow, the ten commandments.  These commandments were actually spoken by God, and not through Moses, so all the people could hear.  As christians it is our calling to keep these commandments perfectly.  Well, this my friends is impossible.  According to Romans the wages of sin is death.  So, if we fail to keep even one of these commandments we are then going to suffer eternal condemnation.  Thank goodness for God's ultimate mercy and grace.

New Camera

So yeah, I bought a new camera, a Nikon D60.  It's pretty rad.  I took some photos with it yesterday, and shot some pics at an Our Hearts' Hero concert.  The best 400 bucks I ever spent.

Back In The Swing Of Things...

Man, retail at Christmas kinda sucks.  Part time work equals 45 hours of each week.  Man, I have video games I need to beat, books to read, TV to watch.

Christmas is almost here, I already have my gift.  I still love it.  It's my iPhone.  I still need to buy some presents.  Ruh Roh.

Lately I've been kinda a jerk, I don't mean to be.  I haven't really spent time with anyone or made an effort to talk to anyone.  I guess I could blame it on work, but no, I'm just lazy....  this blog is a start I guess.... Hello World.

'Til Next Time.... lata

p.s. I got Shawshank Redemption brand new for 5 bucks.  STEAL.

Man, I'm a Crappy Blogger...

Well, it's hard to remember what when on since my last post.  That's probably why most people do these things almost everyday.  Oh well here it goes...

School is almost over, I'm actually doing really well in my classes for once.  Finals haven't been too bad, but I still have like three to take.

Too add to my already nerdiness, I'm watching the CW show Smallville a lot.  It's gotten really good.  Especially this season.  The Office has been really great as well, as usual.  Daryl is really funny, and I'm finally starting to like Pam again.

I got an iPhone.  It's black, it's awesome.  Later.

I'm A Slacker...

Well, It's been a few days but I'm back.  Since my last post quite a few things have happened.  I beat Metal Gear Solid 2 finally, My clutch went out, and Barack Obama will be our new president.  Pretty busy week.

I'm  not going to say all my thoughts and opinions because they don't matter too much.  But just because I didn't vote for him, doesn't mean he'll do a bad job.  He was elected for a reason, what that is I don't know.  I'm anxiously awaiting our countries future.  I pray that God would use President Obama to do his will and work.  I'm not too worked up about the election results.

Chinese Bedtime

So me and the guys at OU did our second concert of three.  It went great.  One band had a banjo and trumpet player.  It was pretty awesome.  Their was another band called bedtime.  They were weird but really good.  They're probably one of my favorite bands now.

My car's been making a lot of weird noises.  So.... I called Daddy and while my car is in the shop I get to drive my Mom's Volkswagen.  Not a bad deal.  When they dropped the car off they also bought me Chinese.  My car needs to break more often.

I'm almost done with 1Samuel.  David is a man.  He dodges Saul's spears like they're nothing.  It's pretty awesome.  David had so much faith.  I'm a bit jealous....

Rain Rain Go Away... At Least Until I Go To Sleep

Man, for some reason I stayed up late and had to wake up early for work.  I'm a retard.  And then to add to my retardedness I decided to run after if was dark and cold and rainy.  Now I don't feel too good.  I'll get over it.

I'm finally getting comfortable with RadioShack.  They haven't given me a real name badge yet.  It's still says I'm in training.  I'm working on it.  I sold a phone by myself today.  I rule.

I really want to watch Max Payne, but I couldn't find anyone to go with me...  I feel to bad to go tonight anyway.

Something I thought was really cool, I've been reading through 1 Samuel, and I love being reminded of all the Bible stories I learned when I was a kid.  I just forgot about them.  But now that I have dug into the scriptures more, I can see just how sovereign God truly is.  For example, when God tells Samuel to anoint David as king.  Then Saul needs someone to play the lute to calm him.  Guess who Saul's servants suggest?  David.  Awesome... God is in control.
